Monthly Game Nights
On the second Wednesday night of each month we have a game night planned for the entire youth group. Game nights are an awesome time and a great opportunity for people to visit for the first time and see what our youth ministry is all about. We do all sorts of stuff for game nights from just hanging out and playing board games to the more physical game nights of kickball and volleyball.
Momentum & MAX
Momentum is a Kansas City District event that allows teens to use their talents in friendly competition. The areas of competition are too vast to list here, but here's a sampling: basketball, football, dodgeball, skateboarding, table tennis, instrumental, vocal, drawing, writing, and many more.
Momentum & MAX occur each year in early Spring. 2008 events have already passed.
Summer Camps
Each summer provides the opprotunity for teens to go to camp with hundreds of other teens from the Kansas City area. The senior high teens go to Youth Front South, while the junior high teens go to Youth Front West. Both camps are on the same week this summer and take place June 9-13, 2008. Mission Trip
During the summer our student ministry takes a trip somewhere in the United States to serve a local community and often a local church. Teens have to qualify to attend Mission Trip by serving throughout the year in our local community. Those who qualified to attend this year's Mission Trip will be going to Denver, Colorado July 6-13, 2008.
Recharge
Recharge is our annual "back to school" retreat that takes place
every August. Each year we take about 90 kids and sponsors to Iowa and
spend a weekend worshiping God, playing games, and developing
friendships. Recharge is one of the biggest highlights of the year in
our student ministry. You will want to come! Breakaway
Breakaway is a single-night Kansas City wide event of over 1,000 teens. Teens meet at College Church in Olathe for a worship service and then travel to differnet locations throughout the night (bowling, skating, arcades, and a huge gym have been some of the past events). The fun ends at 6am Saturday morning when everyone goes home tired! Look for Breakaway 2008 in November!
