Welcome to the Kids' Day out staff page! Each member of the Kids' Day Out Staff is required by the State to have continuous training in Childhood Education. Many of our teachers have had previous experience teaching young children. We believe you will find each teacher is dedicated to providing a learning and enjoyable environment for your child. Director
Cindy Potter is beginning her 13th year as Director of the Kids Day Out program. Cindy has worked at K.D.O for 24 years, teaching the preschool class before she became director. Cindy has an education degree and taught for 5 years in the Olathe School District. She is actively involved in many areas at Westside Church.
Assistant Director
Gina Taylor is our new Assistant Director this year. Gina has lots of experience working with children, and has an Early Childhood Degree. She has two sons in elementary school. Gina and her family attend Westside Church.
Lambs Class - 18 months through 2 1/2 years
Tina Ritter is beginning her second year at K.D.O., as a regular teacher. Tina was a substitute teacher for us prior to last year, and her 2 children attend our program.
Darlene Ortiz is a new teacher at K.D.O., although she is not new to us, since all her children attended here. She has previous experience working with children.
Chipmunks Class - 2 1/2 through 3 1/2 years (potty trained)
Barbara Enright is beginning her third year at K.D.O., working in both Lambs and Chipmunks Classes previously. She has 5 children, the youngest attending our preschool this year.
Staci Knight is beginning her fith year as a teacher at K.D.O.. She has experience working with several ages, as she also works with preschoolers at her church. She has a daughter in elementary school.
Giraffes Class - 3 1/2 through 4 1/2 years
Kelly Jessip is beginning her 13th year as a teacher at K.D.O. Kelly is a member at Westside Church. Kelly has worked with children at church as well as in the public school setting as a para. Kelly has a daughter in college. Kelly's 18 year old son was tragically killed in an accident this past June.
Preschool Class - 4 years and up Marcia Woodard began teaching the Preschool Extended Day Class in 2003, and moved into the regular Preschool Class 5 years ago. Marcia has an education degree, and previous teaching experience at several grade levels (including preschool) in the public school system in California.
Christen Sola is also a Preschool teacher. This is her 5th year at K.D.O., having taught the Preschool Extended Day Class previously. Christen also has an education degree and has previous experience teaching preschool. She has 4 children.
Julie Keena is new to K.D.O. this year. She will be teaching the Preschool Extended Day Classes, as well as helping in the Giraffes Class on Thursdays. She has previous ecperience teaching preschool. Julie has 2 children.
